Job summary

Sony UK Technology Centre (UK TEC) is seeking a Planning Officer to coordinate and optimise production plans within electronics manufacturing. You will collaborate with Operations, Supply Chain and Procurement to meet customer demand and drive OTIF delivery.

The role requires strong organisational skills, capacity planning experience and MS Office proficiency; Oracle Database knowledge is advantageous. You will present PSI forecasts and communicate schedules to stakeholders across the business.

Qualifications

• MS Office proficiency across Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
• Strong communication skills across all levels of the business.
• Excellent organisational skills with high attention to detail.
• Analytical thinking with ability to identify trends from data.
• Experience in capacity planning within a manufacturing or electronics environment.
• Desirable experience with Oracle Database.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement production plans to meet customer demand while optimising resource utilisation and coordinating with Operations, Supply Chain and Procurement teams, including urgent delivery requests.
• Manage customer sales orders, forecasts and changing requirements in collaboration with Account Managers and external customers.
• Monitor production capacity, identify bottlenecks and implement adjustments to ensure efficient resource allocation and meet changing customer demands.
• Manage finished goods inventory against budgets and forecasts, maintaining records, minimising excess stock and ensuring OTIF delivery.
• Own PSI Forecasting & Reporting for a particular business area, preparing and presenting PSI forecasts at weekly and monthly business reviews.
• Communicate production schedules, delivery timelines, customer requirements and potential delays to relevant internal and external stakeholders.
• Identify and implement process improvements, best practices and system enhancements to improve planning efficiency and effectiveness.
