Job summary

Matchtech Group in the Cwmbran area is seeking a proactive Buyer to join our growing Supply Chain team. You will manage supplier performance, raise purchase orders and work with Planning, Operations and Engineering to ensure material availability and on-time delivery.

You will negotiate pricing and terms, identify risks, optimise inventory and contribute to cost reduction initiatives, while maintaining accurate procurement data in the ERP/MRP system and supporting working capital objectives.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Buyer, Purchasing, Procurement or Supply Chain.
• Experience in manufacturing/electronics/technical environments.
• Strong supplier management and negotiation skills.
• Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and inventory management principles.
• Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage supplier relationships to achieve quality, cost, delivery and service objectives.
• Raise and manage purchase orders in line with business requirements.
• Monitor supplier performance and expedite materials when required.
• Negotiate pricing, lead times and commercial terms.
• Identify and mitigate supply chain risks to maintain continuity of supply.
• Support inventory optimisation and working capital objectives.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure material availability aligns with customer and operational requirements.
• Maintain procurement data within the ERP/MRP system.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives.
