Job summary

MAW Engineering in United Kingdom is seeking a Purchasing Officer to join our team on a full-time permanent basis. You will manage purchase orders, liaise with suppliers, and ensure timely procurement to keep production running smoothly.

The role emphasises cost control, supplier negotiations, and compatibility with Sage and MS Office. Training provided where needed with focus on efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar role is beneficial and relevant to purchasing activities.
• Strong understanding of supply chain processes, logistics and procurement best practice.
• Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to secure favourable terms with suppliers.
• Proficient in MS Office and computerised systems, including Sage.
• Good communications across departments and suppliers; strong organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Process and manage purchase orders, negotiate prices and terms with suppliers.
• Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods and materials.
• Manage flow of supplies to production to support the daily plan.
• Source non-stock items with Engineers for build processes.
• Receive goods, check deliveries, process paperwork and resolve anomalies.
• Maintain stock accuracy with regular counts and tidy stores.
• Follow Health and Safety procedures and report issues.
