Job summary

Pertemps Warrington is supporting a client in Southport to recruit a Purchasing Manager. The role is office-based, permanent, and manages a multi-million-pound spend with a focus on strategic sourcing.

The successful candidate will lead the purchasing function, negotiate contracts, and drive cost reductions while maintaining strong supplier partnerships and ensuring optimal stock levels.

Qualifications

• CIPS qualification or equivalent procurement certification.
• Experience in a similar purchasing role is required.
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
• IT literate with proficiency in standard software.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement purchasing strategy in collaboration with Operations Director and senior management.
• Deliver monthly and annual objectives for procurement performance.
• Negotiate contracts and drive cost savings across suppliers.
• Manage supplier relationships and oversee inventory levels and reorder points.
• Lead and motivate the purchasing team to meet business needs.
