Job summary

Pertemps North West and North Wales is seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to lead a proactive purchasing function overseeing approximately £12 million spend per annum. The role is office based in Southport, with a Monday to Friday schedule and a salary of £40,000-£45,000 DOE.

You will develop purchasing strategy, drive cost savings, and manage a team to meet corporate objectives. CIPS qualification and international supplier experience are advantageous.

Qualifications

• CIPS qualification is required
• Previous experience in a similar role is essential
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• IT literacy across common software packages
• Ability to manage multiple priorities for self and team
• Experience with international suppliers is advantageous

Responsibilities

• Work with the Operations Director and SMT to develop and implement purchasing strategy
• Deliver for monthly and annual objectives
• Influence cost savings through supplier relationships
• Manage ordering levels and monitor inventory shipments
• Lead and motivate purchasing team activities
• Maintain accurate purchasing records and costs
• Negotiate contracts for services
• Input to new product development process
