Job summary

System Recruitment is seeking a Purchasing Manager for a long-established pharmaceutical manufacturing firm in Southport. The role requires proactive purchasing leadership covering a £10 million+ annual spend, with a focus on cost savings, supplier selection and stock control, to ensure the business remains strategically equipped.

You will collaborate with management, planning, and warehouse teams, negotiate with international suppliers, and uphold regulated environment standards.

Qualifications

• CIPS qualified required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience in a regulated environment.
• Excellent organisational skills.
• Strong negotiation skills.
• IT literate.
• Discretion and confidentiality.
• Experience managing international suppliers is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Oversee £10M+ annual spend and drive cost savings through negotiations.
• Develop purchasing strategy and supplier selection processes.
• Maintain stock control systems and ensure timely procurement.
• Collaborate with planning, warehouse and management on supplier performance.
