Job summary

Elastic is seeking a senior consultant to lead government-focused delivery and strategic engagements. You will own roadmaps with customers, design and integrate Elastic products, and work across engineering, sales, and support to deliver high-impact solutions.

A current UK security clearance (or willingness) is required, with substantial field travel expected. The role leverages Elastic’s distributed teams and open-source roots to solve complex data challenges and accelerate search and analytics

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Elasticsearch and/or Lucene.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Software Engineer, System Administrator, or DevOps Engineer
• Minimum of 5 years' experience working as a Consultant, delivering professional services engagements
• Currently holding UK security clearance (or previous)
• Experience as a technical instructor or public speaker to large audiences
• Ability to gather, prioritise, plan and execute customer requirements
• Proficient in at least one programming language
• Hands-on with large distributed systems
• Knowledge of information retrieval/analytics
• Work onsite with customers and travel as required
• Understanding of Linux, Java and databases

Responsibilities

• Strong customer advocacy and relationship building
• Pivot from delivery to strategic engagements with customers
• Work with Elastic to align customer goals and journey
• Own strategic roadmap with quarterly sessions with senior stakeholders
• Design, develop, and integrate Elastic products and APIs
• Work remotely in a distributed team
• Develop demos and proof-of-concepts showing Elastic value
• Data modelling, query development and cluster tuning for fast search/analytics
• Solve customers’ data problems
• Collaborate with Elastic engineering, product management, and support
• Engage with the Sales team to scope opportunities and assess risks
