Job summary

AECOM is seeking an Associate Director – Proposal Manager to lead strategic transportation pursuits across the UK and Ireland. You will guide senior leaders, assemble cross-functional teams, and shape client-focused bids that align with growth strategy.

You will influence investment decisions, drive bid planning from qualification through debrief, and embed best practices while coaching teams for high-quality, compliant submissions.

Qualifications

• Substantial experience in a senior proposals or pursuits role.
• Proven track record leading high-value, complex pursuits (e.g. £20M+ contracts).
• Proven ability to create differentiated win strategies and convert them into compliant responses.
• Excellent facilitation and communication skills in virtual and in-person settings.
• Strong proficiency with MS Office and collaboration tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead large, complex transportation pursuits across the UK and Ireland.
• Develop differentiated win strategies from client insight and competitive analysis.
• Direct capture activity and advise senior stakeholders on priorities and investments.
• Mobilise multidisciplinary teams with clear governance and deadlines.
• Lead proposal planning, content development, reviews, and interview prep.
• Ensure submissions are compliant with processes, templates and branding.
• Analyse debriefs and client feedback for continuous improvement.
• Coach teams in capture planning, strategy, and bid writing.
• Mentor capture and proposal teams to improve bid outcomes.
• APMP Practitioner or equivalent qualification.
