Job summary

Hitachi Energy UK Limited is seeking a Project Supply Chain Specialist to own the full supply chain lifecycle for high-value projects. You will coordinate with project teams, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to drive efficiency, reduce risks, and ensure quality within cost targets.

This role requires a strong background in procurement, logistics, and contract management, with experience in project-oriented environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field; at least 3 years in a project-oriented environment.
• Proven track record managing complex supply chains for large-scale industrial or energy projects.
• Strong procurement, logistics, inventory management, and contract negotiation knowledge.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Proficiency in SCM software (e.g., SAP).
• Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities.
• Certifications such as CIPS or APICS are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement project-specific supply chain strategies, aligning with overall company objectives and project timelines.
• Manage supplier selection, negotiation, and contract management for project-related materials, equipment, and services.
• Monitor and track supplier performance, proactively addressing any issues or deviations to ensure on-time delivery and quality.
• Collaborate closely with project managers, engineering, procurement, and logistics teams to forecast material needs and manage inventory levels effectively.
• Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, including potential delays, cost overruns, and quality issues.
• Optimize logistics and transportation processes for efficient material flow to project sites.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, company policies, and ethical sourcing practices.
• Generate regular reports on supply chain performance, cost savings, and risk mitigation efforts.
• Lead and mentor a team of supply chain professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
