Job summary

HITACHI Energy UK LIMITED in Stone, United Kingdom, is seeking an experienced Senior Buyer - Sourcing to manage procurement for key projects, ensuring cost-effective, timely, and high-quality supply of goods and services.

The role requires collaboration with project teams, suppliers and internal stakeholders, plus strong negotiation, SAP proficiency, and a drive for cost savings and KPI delivery. Note: visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Qualifications

• Degree in supply chain, procurement, business, or related discipline.
• Professional certification or working towards MCIPS.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Proven procurement/sourcing experience for site-based installations.
• Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
• Excellent analytical and cost management capabilities.
• Strong organisational and project coordination skills.
• Proficiency in SAP or procurement ERP systems.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead sourcing activities for Service Business to meet project demands.
• Develop procurement strategies aligned with project timelines and budgets.
• Ensure sourcing follows local procurement policy.
• Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers by quality, cost, reliability.
• Set up framework agreements and negotiate pricing/terms for best project value.
• Maintain procurement records, bids, pricing and evaluation processes.
• Provide regular cost/ savings KPI reports.
• Support forecasting and financial planning.
• Conduct supplier reviews and performance evaluations.
• Drive continuous improvement and cost-saving initiatives.
