Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Senior Buyer (Project Execution) to lead procurement for key service projects, ensuring cost-effective, timely, high-quality supply of goods and services. You will collaborate with project teams, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to add real value to project delivery.

The role requires strong negotiation, ERP experience (SAP preferred), and a full UK driving licence, with a focus on achieving best value and on-time milestones.

Qualifications

• Degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business, or related discipline.
• Professional certification (e.g., CIPS).
• Proven procurement, purchasing, or supply chain experience.
• Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
• Excellent analytical and cost management capabilities.
• Proficiency in procurement or ERP systems, preferably SAP.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead procurement activities for the Service Business to align with Project demands.
• Develop and implement procurement strategies which align with the Project timelines and budgets.
• Ensure all Procurement activities are conducted in line with local Procurement Policy.
• Assist in setting up Framework Agreements, negotiation on pricing and terms and conditions to achieve best value for the Project.
• Ensure timely delivery of materials and services to meet project milestones.
• Monitor supplier performance and address issues proactively.
• Maintain accurate procurement records and reporting.
• Work closely with Operations regarding timely execution of Purchase Orders and Contracts.
• Carry out close out of Procurement Activities, collaborate with Project Managers, and provide feedback on Supplier Performance.
• Track procurement activities, ensuring cost efficiency.
