Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Senior Buyer (Project Execution) to lead procurement for key service projects in the UK. You will collaborate with project teams, suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure timely, cost-effective delivery of materials and services.

The role emphasizes strong negotiation, contract management, and ERP proficiency (SAP), with a focus on meeting project milestones and maintaining clear procurement records.

Qualifications

• Degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business, or related discipline.
• Professional certification (e.g., CIPS).
• Proven experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain roles.
• Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
• Excellent analytical and cost management capabilities.
• Proficiency in procurement or ERP systems, preferably SAP.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead Procurement activities for the Service Business to align with Project demands.
• Develop and implement procurement strategies which align with the Project timelines and budgets.
• Ensure all Procurement activities are conducted in line with local Procurement Policy.
• Assist in setting up Framework Agreements, negotiation on pricing and terms and conditions to achieve best value for the Project.
• Ensure timely delivery of materials and services to meet project milestones.
• Monitor supplier performance and address issues proactively.
• Maintain accurate procurement records and reporting.
• Work closely with Operations regarding timely execution of Purchase Orders and Contracts.
• Carry out close out of Procurement Activities, collaborate with Project Managers, and provide feedback on Supplier Performance.
• Track procurement activities, ensuring cost efficiency.
