Job summary

Rolls-Royce plc in Derby invites a Project Engineer to join our Development Engineering group within Research & Technology Demonstrators. You will turn engineering objectives into executable plans, coordinating multidisciplinary teams and owning scope, resources, cost and delivery.

You will plan, integrate and deliver engineering activities, define objectives and milestones, manage budgets and ensure progress against the plan while communicating with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience in an engineering, technical, or product-development environment.
• Ability to translate engineering challenges into practical plans and activities.
• Strong coordination skills with a range of stakeholders.
• Ability to work across technical disciplines and organisational boundaries.
• Ability to manage risks, issues, dependencies and competing priorities.
• Ability to take ownership of budgets and relate scope to resources and delivery.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, integrate and deliver engineering activities with specialists and stakeholders.
• Define objectives, scope, deliverables and success criteria with project teams.
• Develop and maintain integrated plans covering activities, dependencies and milestones.
• Identify required skills and resources, including internal FTE and external/offload needs.
• Develop, understand and control budgets ensuring alignment with the delivery plan.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams to deliver project objectives.
• Support development, test and verification activities.
• Coordinate demonstrator hardware, rigs, instrumentation and test where relevant.
• Identify risks, issues and dependencies and drive appropriate actions.
• Communicate progress, risks and financial position to stakeholders.
