Job summary

Rolls-Royce is seeking a Performance Engineer based in Derby to join the Systems Engineering & Product Performance capability. You will design, simulate, and verify engines at the whole-system level, integrating sub-systems and communicating with stakeholders across internal teams, airframers, regulators, and customers.

The role emphasizes data-driven analysis, model development, 1D thermodynamics, CFD, and certification considerations to predict emergent system attributes and ensure robust

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Engineering or regional equivalent qualification, or equivalent experience.
• Strong technical knowledge in mechanical design methods with cross-discipline concepts (manufacturing, aerodynamics, thermodynamics, analysis).
• Ability to apply analytical, logical and innovative thinking to technical problems and balanced decisions.
• Knowledge/experience of product integrity, liability and certification frameworks.
• UK Chartered status preferred or working towards it.
• Good communication and presentation skills at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Own the definition of the product cycle.
• Provide prediction and analysis of product attributes at whole system level.
• Gather, manage and disseminate requirements from/to internal and external customers.
• Provide data to sub-systems for product design and development.
• Define and manage system and product interfaces.
• Provide insight into product/aircraft interaction.
• Provide insight and analysis of real world operation and customer usage.
