Job summary

Bimplus is seeking an experienced Project Director to lead complex public sector infrastructure and built environment projects across the Midlands and North. The role requires senior client management, strategic direction, and robust governance during pre-contract and governance stages.

You will coordinate multidisciplinary teams, oversee commercial performance, and ensure projects are structured for successful delivery in a council/public sector environment.

Qualifications

• Extensive pre-contract and project set-up experience.
• Experience leading public sector infrastructure or built environment projects.
• Strong governance and reporting experience.
• MRICS, MAPM, MCIOB or CEng qualifications desired.

Responsibilities

• Lead the pre-contract phase of major infrastructure and built environment projects, managing senior client relationships and providing strategic technical direction.
• Establish project controls and governance frameworks, manage programme set-up, risk and assurance processes.
• Coordinate specialist consultants and oversee commercial performance.
• Work closely with local authorities and public sector stakeholders on planning, design, procurement and construction requirements.
• Navigate complex governance and reporting structures to ensure delivery goals are met.
