Job summary

Teledyne Technologies Incorporated is seeking a procurement leader to deliver the procurement plan for the business, heavily influenced by the Procurement Director. The role manages a £40M budget and leads strategic sourcing across suppliers.

You will develop purchasing strategies, negotiate terms, forecast market trends, manage risks, and drive cost reduction while collaborating with stakeholders and inventory/sales teams to optimize margins.

Qualifications

• CIPS Level 5 and 3+ years of experience managing a procurement team.
• Strong team leadership and customer service focus in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and familiarity with procurement systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop, lead and execute purchasing strategies.
• Track and report key metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
• Craft negotiation strategies and close deals with optimal terms.
• Partner with stakeholders to ensure clear requirements documentation.
• Forecast price and market trends to identify changes in buyer-supplier power.
• Perform cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking.
• Assess, manage and mitigate risks.
• Seek and partner with reliable vendors and suppliers.
• Determine quantity and timing of deliveries.
• Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand.
• Propose improvements to the current purchasing system to improve margins and vendor relationships.
• Collaborate with inventory control and sales to develop metrics for inventory needs.
