Job summary

Teledyne FLIR is seeking a Procurement Manager in the UK (St Asaph) to lead and deliver the procurement plan for the business. The role oversees a budget of £40M and reports to the Procurement/Operations Directors.

You will develop purchasing strategies, manage supplier relationships, and drive cost efficiency across functions. The successful candidate will have a CIPS Level 5 qualification and at least 3 years’ experience managing a procurement team, with strong stakeholder collaboration and MS

This will be heavily influenced by the Procurement Director and/or Operations Director. Responsible for a budget spend of £40M.**Key Responsibilities:*** Develop, lead and execute purchasing strategies* Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness* Craft negotiation strategies and close deals with optimal terms* Partner with stakeholders to ensure clear requirements documentation* Forecast price and market trends to identify changes of balance in buyer-supplier power* Perform cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking* Assess, manage and mitigate risks* Seek and partner with reliable vendors and suppliers* Determine quantity and timing of deliveries* Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand* Propose improvements to the current purchasing system that will improve vendor relationships and improve margin* Collaborate with inventory control and sales to develop metrics for gauging inventory level needs, maintaining those levels* Take the lead in creating profitable ways to manage obsolete and slow-moving stock to help offset losses* Manage the company’s day-to-day purchasing activities and ensure that all purchasing agents are meeting their personal performance standards* Assist in developing more effective invoicing and collecting processes**Personal Specification:**As a minimum we are seeking candidates with a CIPS Level 5 who have had at least 3 years’ experience managing a procurement team. Ideal candidates will be comfortable managing a team whilst also having responsibility for a key commodity within the procurement team.Candidates will have a team and customer service focus, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, results-oriented, and continually changing environment. Additionally full proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.
