Job summary

Imperial College London is seeking a strategic purchasing adviser to join its Procurement team in London. You will lead adoption of preferred supplier agreements across Imperial, monitor efficiency, and consolidate supplier bases where value is found.

Strong governance and stakeholder management are essential. You will provide professional procurement guidance, influence contract management, and drive cost reductions while ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.

Qualifications

• Experience in procurement in complex environments (public/private)
• Experience managing procurement programmes delivering change
• Ability to analyse external market/management reports for decisions
• Proficient in MS Office suite for documentation and analysis

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate implementation/adoption of preferred supplier agreements across Imperial.
• Provide procurement advice/tendering/spec drafting to departments.
• Promote purchasing agreements and provide guidance as required.
• Deliver cost reductions via modern strategic purchasing techniques with compliance.
• Support buyer network and drive procurement activities with Prince II methods.
• Represent Procurement in working groups/committees to raise and act on issues.
