Job summary

Leicestershire County Council is seeking an experienced Planning and Highway Lawyer to join its Environment & Property legal team at County Hall, Glenfield. The role focuses on planning and development matters, advising senior officers and Members on complex issues shaping growth and infrastructure across the county.

Qualifications

Professional qualification as a solicitor or barrister or CILEX Fellow.
Recent experience in planning and highway law including committee advocacy.
Experience with S106 planning agreements and highways infrastructure agreements.
Ability to communicate effectively with Members and officers.
Up-to-date knowledge of S106, S38/S278, flood risk and rights of way.

Responsibilities

Advise senior officers and elected Members on complex planning and highway matters.
Provide specialist legal advice on planning committee work and major development proposals.
Draft and negotiate planning and highway agreements; advise on enforcement and appeals.
Support growth, infrastructure and communities across Leicestershire.
