Job summary

National Highways is seeking a Physical and People Security Lead to develop and implement security capabilities across the organisation. The role supports the Hd SO&I and drives risk-based security measures including incident response.

You will lead security programs, engage with authorities, chair security forums, and oversee investigations, with hybrid working requiring two days in the office and travel to team meetings across the UK.

Qualifications

• Recognised professional security certifications (CPP, PSP, Security Institute) or equivalent experience.
• Senior security management experience in a large organisation.
• Strong organisational and communication skills with transformation experience.
• Ability to analyse, plan, set direction, engage and lead.
• In-depth advisory expertise in physical, personnel security and risk governance.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of Physical and People Security for Hd SO&I.
• Drive implementation of security controls: policies, processes, standards.
• Plan risk assessments and oversee investigations incl. lessons learned.
• Develop NH-wide Physical and People Security incident response policies.
• Collaborate with National Authorities as appropriate.
• Chair Security Forums and SWGs as required.
