Job summary

National Highways seeks a Physical and People Security Lead to develop and implement security capabilities, policies and processes across the organisation. You will provide advisory support, conduct risk assessments, lead investigations and drive continuous improvement in security across teams.

The role requires SC clearance prior to starting and typically a residency history of five years in the UK; there is a hybrid work model with two days in office weekly and travel to various UK offices.

Qualifications

• Recognised professional security certifications (CPP, PSP, Security Institute, police/military or government equivalents) or equivalent experience.
• Strong background in security senior management and business change in a large organisation.
• Sound organisational and communication skills; able to operate during transformation.
• Ability to engage, lead, collaborate and communicate to deliver results.
• Security advisory expertise in capability development, security management and delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead and enable the delivery of Physical and People Security for Hd SO&I.
• Direct the adoption and implementation of security controls, policies, processes and guidance.
• Plan and direct Physical and People Security risk assessments and investigations; implement lessons learned.
• Develop and implement NH-wide Physical and People Security Incident Response policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with National Authorities as appropriate.
• Chair and support Security Forums and Security Working Groups.
