Job summary

SP Energy Networks in Glasgow (HQ) is seeking a Strategic Optimisation Manager to shape energy networks for the UK's Net Zero transition. You will lead a team delivering strategic planning and optimisation for DSO projects and regulatory initiatives.

You will engage with government bodies, authorities and industry stakeholders, providing insights, developing long-term energy plans and driving enhanced modelling, automation and performance.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering or equivalent discipline.
• Experience delivering projects in regulated industries.
• Knowledge of GB electricity network planning and operation.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team delivering strategic energy planning and optimisation activities.
• Provide network insights and support long-term energy plans.
• Oversee DSO projects and regulatory initiatives with strong reporting and stakeholder engagement.
• Identify opportunities to improve modelling, automation and optimisation capabilities.
