Job summary
SP Energy Networks in Glasgow is seeking a Strategic Optimisation Manager to lead a team delivering strategic energy planning and optimisation for government organisations, local authorities and industry partners on Net Zero journeys.
You will oversee key DSO projects, provide leadership across technical and policy areas, and drive reporting, analysis and stakeholder engagement to advance network modelling and automation.
Qualifications
- A degree in Engineering or an equivalent discipline/experience.
- Strong experience delivering projects and programmes within regulated industries.
- Knowledge of GB electricity network planning, operation and associated risks.
- Proven leadership and people management experience, with a passion for developing high-performing teams.
- Strong commercial awareness, strategic thinking and business planning capability.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team delivering strategic energy planning and optimisation activities for Net Zero journeys.
- Provide network insights and support the development of long-term energy plans.
- Oversee DSO projects and regulatory initiatives with high-quality reporting and stakeholder engagement.
- Identify opportunities to improve network modelling, automation and optimisation capabilities.
- Ensure effective communication and collaboration with internal and external partners.
