Job summary

SP Energy Networks in Glasgow is seeking a Strategic Optimisation Manager to lead a team delivering strategic energy planning and optimisation. You will work with regulators, local authorities and industry partners to shape decarbonisation plans and future energy requirements within the DSO portfolio.

In this role you will drive improvements in network modelling, automation and reporting while guiding high-performing teams in a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering or equivalent discipline.
• Experience delivering projects in regulated industries.
• Knowledge of GB electricity network planning and operation.
• Proven leadership and people management experience.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team delivering strategic energy planning and optimisation activities for regulators, authorities and industry stakeholders.
• Provide network insights and support long-term energy plans and national approaches.
• Oversee DSO projects and regulatory initiatives with high-quality reporting and engagement.
• Identify opportunities to improve network modelling, automation and optimisation.
