Job summary

British Airways is seeking an Operations Manager for Heathrow Maintenance to set strategic direction, align resources, and deliver safe, compliant daily operations while leading transformation and capability development. You will oversee a leadership team to achieve immediate targets and long-term goals.

You will drive performance, enable an empowered team, and manage load, capacity and stakeholder relationships to deliver excellence across the maintenance function.

Qualifications

• Educated to HNC level or degree or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience leading an Engineering department (essential).
• Strong knowledge of CAA Part 145 operations and aircraft maintenance functions (essential).
• Working knowledge of H&S legislation (essential).
• CAA Part 66 Licence holder (desirable).
• Experience leading change in an operational environment (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Implements a departmental strategy delivering health and safety, quality, operations and finance targets.
• Ensure regulatory requirements are up to date and procedures remain compliant and practical.
• Provides a safe working environment; models and maintains safe practices.
• Identifies, develops and achieves plans to improve performance and cost year-on-year.
• Creates and manages service level agreements with key suppliers and stakeholders.
• Maintains and upholds active trade unions relationships through engagement.
• Enables and embeds a continuous improvement culture delivering value-added change.
• Developing and maintaining load and capacity requirements for the department.
