Job summary

Rolle Medical Partnership is seeking a Strategic Nurse Manager to provide strategic clinical leadership across our nursing and wider clinical workforce. The role suits an experienced clinician aiming to develop leadership within a well-established GP training practice.

The post involves shaping the clinical workforce strategy, ensuring appropriate skill mix, and leading governance, quality improvement and service development across four sites in East Devon’s broader region.

Qualifications

• Experience of leading and managing a nursing or multidisciplinary clinical team
• Experience of autonomous clinical decision-making and managing patients with complex needs
• Experience of developing, implementing and reviewing clinical policies, protocols and procedures
• Experience of clinical governance, quality improvement and audit
• Experience of leading service improvement and implementing change
• Experience of workforce planning and developing services to meet patient and organisational needs
• Experience of managing performance and supporting staff development

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic clinical leadership across the nursing and wider clinical workforce
• Lead and develop Advanced Health Practitioners, ANPs, Practice Nurses, HCAs, Nursing Associates and Paramedics
• Develop and implement a clinical workforce strategy appropriate for a 26,000-patient practice
• Support recruitment, retention and effective deployment of clinical staff
• Review workforce requirements, skill mix and future workforce needs
• Develop clinical career pathways and opportunities for professional progression
• Lead clinical training, competency, supervision and appraisal frameworks
• Support the development of advanced practice and new models of care
• Promote effective multidisciplinary working and ensure clinicians are appropriately utilised
• Provide leadership for clinical governance, audit, quality improvement and patient safety
• Support CQC readiness and clinical governance requirements
• Identify opportunities to improve access, efficiency, patient experience and quality
• Work collaboratively with clinical and administrative leaders to develop and implement service improvements
• Contribute to the wider strategic planning and future direction of the practice
