Job summary

Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a proactive Buyer to oversee procurement across the Trust. The role involves managing procurement categories, leading tenders and contract management, and identifying opportunities for cash releasing savings while ensuring compliance with public sector procurement regulations.

The post holder will collaborate with Procurement managers, divisions, clinicians, and the Finance team to deliver value for patient care.

Qualifications

• Proactively manages allocated procurement categories and projects, delivering against agreed timescales and outcomes across the Trust.
• Identify and achieve potential cash releasing savings from revenue expenditure through benchmarking, market testing, standardisation, and negotiation with suppliers.
• Add value and ensure probity through contract compliance and proactive supplier and contract management.
• Lead and manage tenders and contracts for a range of goods and services to achieve best value for money for the Trust, delivering to agreed timescales.
• Analyse the financial implications of contract awards and communicate to Trust budget holders including reporting on supplier and product changes.
