Job summary

Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced procurement professional to lead tenders and contracts, identify cash-releasing savings and analyse financial effects of awards for budget holders.

You will work with clinicians, divisions and finance to deliver on the trust’s work plan, under performance management. CIPS Level 6 or equivalent experience is expected, with procurement experience in or outside the NHS.

Qualifications

• CIPS Level 6 (Professional) or equivalent experience.
• Degree-level education required.
• A Levels, diploma or equivalent.
• GCSEs including maths and English.

Responsibilities

• Manage allocated procurement categories and projects to timescales across divisions.
• Identify cash-releasing savings through benchmarking, market testing, standardisation and supplier negotiation.
• Lead and manage tenders and contracts for goods and services to achieve best value.
• Ensure contract compliance and proactive supplier and contract management to add value and secure probity.
• Analyse the financial implications of contract awards and report to budget holders.
