Job summary

Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking highly motivated procurement professionals to join our team. The role focuses on managing procurement for the Trust and Wirral Community Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust, delivering cash-releasing savings and efficiencies while supporting patient care.

You will work with procurement managers, clinicians and the finance team to plan, run tenders and manage contracts, ensuring compliance and probity.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering procurement projects in the public sector.
• Ability to benchmark, market test, standardise and negotiate with suppliers.
• Experience leading tenders and contracts to achieve best value.
• Analytical skills to interpret data and present options and recommendations.
• Knowledge of UK public sector procurement frameworks and policies.

Responsibilities

• Proactively manages allocated procurement categories and projects across the Trust.
• Identify and achieve potential cash releasing savings from expenditure.
• Add value and ensure probity through contract compliance and proactive supplier management.
• Lead and manage tenders and contracts for a range of goods and services to achieve best value.
• Analyse financial implications of contract awards and report to budget holders.
• Establish and maintain strategic stakeholder relationships to improve contract management.
• Provide procurement advice and training on the process, UK regulations and evaluations.
