Job summary

Connells Group UK is seeking an experienced Management Accountant to join the team in Milton Keynes on a 6 Month FTC. The role provides finance input to business decisions and supports Directors with accurate financial information.

Key duties include month-end close, preparation of accruals/prepayments, VAT returns, budgets and year-end accounts, plus assisting with budgets and pay reviews. Strong Excel and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Month-end close experience preferred.
• CIMA/ACCA finalist or equivalent qualification.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Good time management and ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, V-Lookups, Sumifs).
• Analytical mindset with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Review and appraisal of branch results and variances.
• Liaise with Divisional MDs/Area Directors to manage cost base.
• Prepare prepayments and accruals; reconcile balance sheets.
• Calculate branch staff commissions and ensure payroll deadlines.
• Compute monthly profit share accruals and quarterly payments.
• Support weekly reporting and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare VAT returns.
• Assist with budgets/forecasts and year-end statutory accounts.
• Handle intercompany transactions.
• Support annual budget and pay-review processes.
