Job summary

Management Accountant - 6 Month FTC

Salary: £45,000
Contract: 6 Month Fixed-Term Contract
Working Pattern: 5 Days On-Site

I'm currently recruiting for an experienced Management Accountant to join a well-established business on an initial 6-month fixed-term contract.

This is a hands-on role within a busy finance function and would suit somebody who enjoys taking ownership of their work, working closely with the wider business and getting involved across all areas of management accounting.

Due to the nature of the role and the interaction required with the wider business, this position will be fully office-based, five days per week.

Key responsibilities:

• Preparation of monthly management accounts
• Ownership of month-end processes and reporting
• Accruals, prepayments and journal postings
• Balance sheet reconciliations
• Budgeting and forecasting
• Variance analysis with clear commentary
• Preparation of monthly management information
• Cash flow reporting and analysis
• Working closely with budget holders and operational stakeholders
• Providing financial analysis to support business decisions
• Supporting year-end and external audit requirements
• Identifying opportunities to improve financial processes, controls and reporting
• Supporting the wider finance team with ad hoc projects and analysis

The ideal candidate:

You’ll be an experienced Management Accountant with a strong understanding of the full month-end process and the confidence to take ownership of your responsibilities from day one.

You’ll ideally be part-qualified, qualified by experience or actively studying towards ACCA/CIMA, although strong practical experience will be equally considered.

You’ll need strong Excel skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to communicate effectively with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.

Previous experience joining a business on an FTC or interim basis and getting up to speed quickly would be particularly advantageous.
