Job description

Join a team that’s shaping the future of claims management in the NHS.

NHS Resolution’s Claims Management function is undergoing an exciting transformation—building a unified, forward-thinking service that empowers teams, eliminates duplication, and fosters professional growth. As part of this evolution, we’re looking for a Strategic Intervention Claims Manager to join our vibrant and fast-paced Claims Intervention Team (CIT).

Why This Role Matters

CIT is a dynamic, inclusive team at the heart of strategic innovation in claims handling. We don’t just manage claims—we analyse data, pilot new ideas, and collaborate across the sector to drive meaningful change. Our work supports NHS Resolution’s dispute resolution initiatives and helps shape the future of claims strategy. This is a unique opportunity to combine hands-on claims management with high-level strategic thinking. You’ll be part of a team that values every voice, encourages experimentation, and thrives on continuous learning.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Strategic Intervention Claims Manager, you’ll:

  • Work closely with claimant solicitors to resolve claims early and identify patterns that inform strategic improvements across the claims landscape.
  • Support Claims Managers with tools, guidance, and fresh approaches—helping to pilot innovative schemes and evaluate their impact.
  • Collaborate with the Continuous Improvement Team to roll out new initiatives across the organisation.
  • Spot emerging trends and behavioural patterns in claims data to inform smarter claims management techniques and drive strategic learning
  • Explore and implement new ways of working and case management methods.
  • Manage your own caseload of claims, applying your expertise to deliver timely and effective outcomes.
  • Act as a change champion within the organisation, advocating for new approaches and embedding innovation into everyday practice.
What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking someone with strong technical knowledge and experience in clinical negligence or personal injury claims. You’ll also bring:

  • Proven ability to manage a high-volume caseload under pressure.
  • A solid understanding of current law and relevant statutes.
  • Excellent drafting skills for complex legal correspondence.
  • A collaborative mindset and ability to work across teams.
  • Outstanding communication skills and customer focus.
  • A passion for service improvement and innovation.
  • Sharp attention to detail and a pragmatic approach to problem-solving.
  • Confidence in interpreting and using data to inform decision-making, identify trends, and support continuous improvement
What we offer in return
  • Competitive salary and benefits package
  • Opportunities for career growth and development
  • Collaborative and innovative work environment
  • Work in a progressive environment towards data-driven strategies
  • A commitment to diversity, equality, and inclusion
  • Access to the NHS Pension Scheme and a minimum of 27 days Annual Leave.
  • Commitment to support individuals in having a work and life balance, offering flexible working arrangements

When joining the NHS family, there are a wealth of savings, discounts and support you will be able to access

  • 24 hours employee assistance programme from Health Assured (EAP)
  • Eye care vouchers for Specsavers
  • Health service discounts
  • Blue Light card, a discount service for the emergency services and the NHS
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Season ticket loan scheme
