Job summary

Coundon Primary School in Coventry is seeking an experienced Inclusion Lead to join our team for a one-year maternity cover. You will lead our SEND and Inclusion strategy across the school, oversee EHCP processes, monitor pupil progress and collaborate with parents, staff and external professionals to ensure high quality inclusive practice.

Qualifications

• Knows SEND with strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice, statutory responsibilities and EHCP processes.
• Demonstrates understanding of excellent teaching and can support colleagues to ensure adaptive teaching in the classroom.
• Highly organised with ability to manage competing priorities, deadlines and complex caseloads.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for SEND and Inclusion across the school.
• Lead and develop the Inclusion team to deploy expertise and resources effectively.
• Work alongside teachers to strengthen adaptive teaching and inclusive classroom practice.
• Oversee SEND identification, assessment, provision, intervention and review.
• Lead statutory SEND processes, including EHCP provision, reviews and liaison with external professionals.
• Use data and pupil progress information to evaluate impact and inform improvements.
• Engage with parents and carers in a constructive and sensitive manner.
• Build relationships with external agencies and professionals to support inclusion.
• Contribute to whole-school leadership, improvement planning and evaluation.
