Job summary

Coventry City Council is seeking an experienced Inclusion Lead to join Coundon Primary School for a one-year maternity cover. The role goes beyond a standard SENCo, taking strategic responsibility for SEND and Inclusion across the whole school to ensure every pupil can access, participate and thrive.

You will work with the Headteacher and SLT to drive high-quality teaching, lead the Inclusion team, and strengthen adaptive teaching and inclusive practice, while meeting safeguarding requirements.

Qualifications

• Experienced SENCo with strategic leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of SEND Code of Practice and EHCP processes.
• Exceptional organisational skills and ability to manage complex caseloads.
• Ability to lead and develop the Inclusion team.
• Commitment to safeguarding and working with families.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for SEND and Inclusion across the school.
• Lead and develop the Inclusion team to deploy expertise.
• Support adaptive teaching and inclusive classroom practice with teachers.
• Oversee SEND identification, assessment, provision and review.
• Lead statutory SEND processes including EHCP provisions and reviews.
• Use data and pupil voice to evaluate impact.
• Collaborate with parents and external agencies.
• Contribute to school improvement and leadership planning.
