Job summary

Coventry City Council invites applications for an Inclusion Lead at Coundon Primary School for a one-year maternity cover starting 18 January 2027. You will take strategic responsibility for inclusion across the school, championing vulnerable pupils and ensuring access, participation and thriving within the school community.

We seek an experienced SENCo who combines warmth with high expectations, capable of leading complex provisioning and working with parents, carers and external agencies.

Qualifications

• Significant SENCo leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of SEND Code of Practice and EHCP processes.
• Ability to collaborate with families, teachers and external agencies.

Responsibilities

• Lead our whole-school approach to SEND and Inclusion, ensuring a strategic and ambitious provision.
• Oversee SEND identification, assessment, provision, intervention and review.
• Lead statutory SEND processes, including EHCP provisions and annual reviews.
• Develop and deploy adaptive teaching and inclusive classroom practices across the school.
• Build capacity within the Inclusion team and support colleagues to raise expectations and outcomes.
