HSE Recruitment Network in Newcastle upon Tyne seeks a Senior Health, Safety and Environment Manager to lead and evolve the HSE function across the business, including ESG. You will shape safety culture, drive governance, and partner with key stakeholders to deliver continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate will be a strategic, people-centered leader capable of engaging with the board, building teams, and managing risk in a fast-paced, multi-site environment.

Qualifications

• NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualification.
• Experience with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 and regulatory engagement.
• Multi-site management across supply chain and retail stores.
• Coach and mentor who can grow and develop a team.
• Strategically supported Health, Safety and Environment within a fast-paced business.
• Senior credibility with operational understanding.
• Calm in a crisis and able to prioritise tasks.

Responsibilities

• Strategically lead and evolve the HSE strategy across multiple sites.
• Grow and empower the H&S team and wider EH&S community.
• Oversee the Management System with governance and risk control.
• Engage senior stakeholders and influence decision-making.
• Use data and trend analysis to drive performance and planning.
• Provide leadership on HSE legislation and regulatory requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement through reporting and incident management.
• Maintain oversight of risk profile and organisational learning.
• Lead the SHE function and build organisational capability.
• Partner with stakeholders to drive continuous SHE improvements.
