Job summary

Schools’ Choice is seeking an experienced Finance Business Partner with strong Housing Revenue Account (HRA) expertise to support a local authority on an interim basis. The role is predominantly remote with occasional travel to offices in Lowestoft and Melton.

You will lead HRA budgeting and year-end processes, provide strategic financial input to housing services, and collaborate with senior stakeholders and cabinet members to shape financial decisions.

Qualifications

• CIPFA/ACCA or equivalent professional accountancy qualification.
• Significant experience as Finance Business Partner in Local Government.
• Strong HRA experience and budget/year-end lead.
• Knowledge of housing finance legislation and statutory reporting.
• Experience supporting housing-related services.

Responsibilities

• Lead HRA revenue and capital budgets.
• Deliver the HRA year-end statement.
• Provide financial advice across Housing Revenue Account, Private Sector Housing and Homelessness.
• Support Service Managers, Senior Management and Councillors with forecasting and decision-making.
• Monitor budgets and ensure governance.
• Contribute to corporate transformation projects.
• Ensure compliance with legislation and council policies.
• Build relationships with stakeholders across the organisation.
