Pinsent Masons is seeking an HR Shared Services Manager in Birmingham on a 6-month fixed-term contract. You will lead two connected teams delivering high-quality HR services and manage compliance activity across the employee lifecycle.

The role requires strategic and operational leadership, strong HR systems acumen (Oracle HCM), and a track record of driving continuous improvement in a regulated, professional services environment.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience leading HR Shared Services or HR operations.
• Strong knowledge of UK immigration and right-to-work requirements.
• Experience managing compliance activity, risk controls, and audits.
• Proven ability to deliver continuous service improvements.
• Experience with Oracle HCM or similar HR systems.
• Ability to lead cross-functional stakeholder groups.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership across HR Shared Services and HR Compliance.
• Oversee core HR processes across the employee lifecycle and global service delivery.
• Act as senior escalation point for complex operational and compliance risks.
• Lead continuous improvement and streamlined governance.
• Collaborate with HR Systems to maximise Oracle HCM usage, including AI/automation.
• Develop service measures, compliance controls, and MI.
• Represent HR across Payroll, IT, Privacy, Security, Finance and the business.
• Lead UK right to work, sponsorships and visa activity.
• Support HR Data Subject Rights Requests and privacy embedding.
• Oversee vetting and information security liaison.
