Job summary

West Yorkshire Police is seeking a customer-focused HR Operations Advisor to support the People Directorate in Leeds/Bradford. You will provide advice across HR processes, manage internal recruitment, policy queries and employment changes to support a workforce of around 13,000 officers and staff.

The role offers opportunities to work within a refreshed structure, with priority on accurate administration and timely MI.

Qualifications

• Experience in HR administration and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to interpret and apply HR policies and procedures.
• Experience using systems to obtain management information.
• Basic knowledge of recruitment processes and onboarding activities (Desirable).
• Working towards or holding a Level 3 CIPD qualification (Desirable).

Responsibilities

• Act as the first point of contact for HR policy queries, offering guidance and signposting to relevant procedures.
• Administrate internal recruitment processes, including pre-employment checks, contract preparation, and onboarding of internal applicants.
• Maintain accurate HR records and systems, including updates related to organisational change, maternity, and reasonable adjustments.
• Support pay-related appeals and coordinating officer/staff movements, including acting up and temporary promotions.
• Ensure all employment changes are communicated to relevant stakeholders such as payroll and local management.
