Job summary

Daniel Owen Ltd is seeking an experienced HR Manager to take ownership of the people function in a growing organisation. You will lead and develop HR across the business, acting as the primary contact for people-related matters and ensuring compliance with UK employment legislation.

You will manage recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and policy development while balancing employee wellbeing with commercial objectives.

Qualifications

• CIPD Level 5 qualification required.
• Experience as HR Manager, HR Business Partner or Senior HR Advisor.
• Strong knowledge of UK employment law and current HR best practice.
• Experience handling complex employee relations cases.
• Proven recruitment and onboarding experience.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Solid organisational skills with ability to manage competing priorities.
• Autonomy in leading the HR function.

Responsibilities

• Manage full employee lifecycle from recruitment to exits.
• Lead recruitment campaigns including offers and checks.
• Coordinate onboarding: contracts, induction, equipment, access, documentation.
• Advise managers on disciplinary, grievance, investigation, and performance matters.
• Oversee absence reporting and attendance monitoring.
• Maintain employee records and ensure policy compliance.
• Review and update HR policies and procedures.
• Produce HR reports for Directors and senior leaders.
• Support workforce planning and retention initiatives.
• Identify opportunities to strengthen HR systems and reporting.
