Job summary

VIQU Energy in Birmingham is seeking an experienced HR Manager to own the day-to-day HR function in a growing organisation. This broad, hands-on generalist role will help shape culture, boost employee engagement and drive business performance.

You will lead a small HR team, provide guidance to managers across capability, conduct, absence and employee relations, ensure compliance with UK employment law and ACAS guidance, and support onboarding, development and wellbeing initiatives.

Qualifications

• Broad generalist HR knowledge.
• Strong knowledge of UK employment law, ER and HR best practice.
• Excellent interpersonal, influencing and problem-solving skills.
• Experience of employee engagement, training and development.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Good Microsoft Office skills, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the HR team, overseeing recruitment, employee development, performance and wellbeing.
• Provide expert HR guidance to managers across capability, conduct, absence and employee relations.
• Ensure HR policies and processes remain compliant with UK employment legislation and ACAS guidance.
• Lead onboarding, induction, employee engagement, progress and exit interviews.
• Develop and deliver training and development programmes, including sector-specific training.
• Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, employee experience and organisational performance.
• Manage HR budgets, headcount, reward, benefits and support monthly payroll administration.
• Champion employee wellbeing, inclusion and a positive workplace culture.
