Job summary

University Hospital of North Midlands NHS Trust in Wolverhampton is seeking a Strategic Procurement Manager to oversee procurement activities across pathology services and NHS boards. You will lead the pathology procurement team, ensuring compliance with PCR 2015, PA 2023 and contract law, while driving continuous improvement and strategic commercial initiatives.

Qualifications

• Full Member status of CIPS.
• Up-to-date knowledge of PCR 2015, PA 2023, contract law and purchasing legislation.
• Experience managing and developing staff.
• Ability to manage personal and team workloads and delegate tasks.
• Strong prioritisation, numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written communication, presentation, negotiation and influencing skills.
• Ability to demonstrate innovation, motivation, tact and diplomacy.
• DBS check is required.
• UK professional registration requirements must be met.
• Visa sponsorship available for eligible applicants.

Responsibilities

• Manage procurement activities for the Black Country Pathology Service and ICBs.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with UK law and regulations.
• Lead the Black Country Pathology Procurement Team and coordinate its activities.
• Support development and continuous improvement of the procurement team.
• Lead and support on key commercial issues and commodity areas.
• Provide accurate, timely procurement advice to Trust committees.
• Manage business-critical procurement matters affecting partner trusts.
• Support effective procurement decision-making and contract management.
