Job summary

Stockport Homes Group is seeking an experienced Head of Development to lead our development programme and shape housing across Stockport. This full-time, 37-hour-per-week role is based in Stockport with hybrid working options and offers a salary in the £61,355 to £70,234 per annum range plus access to a subsidised company car scheme.

Qualifications

• A degree level qualification, relevant professional qualification or equivalent senior level experience in housing development, property construction, or related discipline.
• The willingness to work towards relevant professional qualifications and training to meet the Regulator of Social Housing's Competence and Conduct Standard.
• Significant experience leading complex housing development or regeneration programmes.
• Strong knowledge of affordable housing development, viability, procurement and contract management.
• Excellent leadership skills, with experience developing and motivating high-performing teams.
• Strong commercial, financial and risk management expertise, with the ability to make sound evidence-based decisions.
• Excellent communication and relationship building skills, with the confidence to influence senior leaders, partners and funders.

Responsibilities

• Leading the delivery and development of our Development Strategy.
• Growing our pipeline through land, acquisition, regeneration and partnership opportunities.
• Ensuring strong governance, financial performance and risk management across the programme.
• Building effective relationships with partners including Stockport Council, Homes England, contractors, developers and consultants.
• Leading and developing a high performing Development Team.
