Job summary

FD Recruit partners with a privately owned construction group to appoint a Finance Director. The role spans across a multi-entity group, starting hands-on with the largest business and acting as a strategic partner to the owners.

This is a high-responsibility position that requires strong financial leadership and relationship-building. You will lead budgeting, management reporting, cash flow, and debt facilities, while developing funding strategies to support growth and acquisitions.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with FD or senior finance SME experience.
• Experience leading budgeting across multiple businesses.
• Proven track record managing debt facilities and covenants.
• Experience with bonding facilities in construction or M&E.
• Experience acquiring and integrating businesses.
• Strong communication with owners and external partners.

Responsibilities

• Lead the annual budgeting process for every business in the group.
• Provide management accounts, forecasting and variance analysis.
• Hold regular performance reviews with stakeholders and actions.
• Produce reporting for each business and present to owners.
• Oversee cash flow, forecasting and reporting for the largest business.
• Manage banking relationships, facilities and covenants.
• Develop funding strategy to support growth and acquisitions.
• Support owners with acquisitions including financial modelling.
• Act as FD for new businesses joining the group.
