Job summary

Greene King is seeking an External Communications Lead to shape and protect the company's reputation. You will lead corporate communications, reactive press activity, and external PR strategy, working with senior leaders to align messaging across the business.

You will guide crisis communications, advise executives, and oversee agency partnerships to ensure a joined-up external presence for Greene King’s brands across hospitality and retail sectors.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in corporate communications.
• Strong media relations expertise.
• Proven crisis communications experience.
• Experience supporting complex business change programmes.
• Excellent influencing and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver Greene King’s corporate communications strategy across business performance, sustainability, social mobility, employer brand, community impact and charity partnerships.
• Lead and oversee our 24/7 reactive press office, ensuring robust processes and responses that protect Greene King’s reputation.
• Develop crisis communications strategies and provide media handling during high-profile or sensitive situations.
• Partner with senior stakeholders including the Executive Board to provide communications guidance externally.
• Manage external agencies and oversee divisional PR activity for cohesive communications across the business.
