Job summary

Greene King is seeking an External Communications Lead to shape and protect the company's reputation. You will lead corporate communications, reactive press activity, and external PR strategy, working with senior leaders to align messaging across the business.

You will guide crisis communications, advise executives, and oversee agency partnerships to ensure a joined-up external presence for Greene King’s brands across hospitality and retail sectors.

• Partner with senior stakeholders including the Executive Board to provide communications guidance externally.
• Manage external agencies and oversee divisional PR activity for cohesive communications across the business.

Job Description

As External Communications Lead, you will play a critical role in promoting and protecting Greene King’s reputation. Leading our corporate communications strategy, reactive press office and external PR activity, you’ll ensure Greene King is positioned as a leading business both within and beyond the hospitality sector. Working closely with senior leaders, including the Executive Board and Leadership Group, you’ll provide expert communications counsel, navigate complex reputational challenges and drive a joined-up approach to external communications across the business.

As an External Communications Lead, you will…

• Manage external agencies and oversee divisional PR activity, ensuring a cohesive, integrated approach to communications across the business.

What you'll bring…

• Significant experience in corporate communications, public relations or media relations, with a strong track record of delivering impactful communications strategies.
• Strong media relations expertise and experience managing high-profile press office activity.
• Proven crisis communications experience, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure and manage reputational risk effectively.
• Experience supporting complex business change programmes and communicating with a broad range of stakeholders.
• Excellent influencing, stakeholder management and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to advise senior leaders and executives.
