Job summary

National Energy System Operator Limited is seeking a Strategy Delivery Manager to drive the Strategic Spatial Energy Plan (SSEP) delivery, including the draft consultation and related environmental data packages.

You will lead cross-functional teams, coordinate with policy, modelling, and external partners, and translate complex inputs into concise, actionable outputs for senior stakeholders. The role requires strong governance, delivery discipline, and knowledge of the energy sector.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience operating in complex, multi-stakeholder environments with delivery focus.
• Ability to bring structure and clarity to ambiguity and evolving delivery requirements.
• Highly organized with prioritisation and delivery to tight timelines.
• Sound judgement and credibility to act as trusted advisor to senior stakeholders.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, translating complexity into actionable messaging.
• Proven experience leading or coordinating large, complex delivery programmes.
• Strong cross-disciplinary coordination, aligning inputs into coherent outputs.
• Comfortable working across strategy and delivery, linking long-term objectives to implementation.
• Good understanding of the energy sector or ability to rapidly build domain expertise.
• Strong analytical thinking and data-driven decision making.
• Balance big-picture thinking with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end planning and delivery of the draft SSEP consultation with environmental reports and data requirements.
• Coordinate across policy, modelling, engagement and publications workstreams.
• Establish governance, reporting and decision-making routes for consultation delivery.
• Ensure consultation products are high quality and aligned with expectations.
• Manage risks, dependencies and delivery challenges, maintaining pace and control.
• Collaborate with engagement, communications and external partners for integrated delivery.
• Develop clear, evidence-based strategic insights to support decisions.
• Prepare briefings and communications for senior stakeholders and NESO leadership.
• Translate complex analysis into concise, actionable narratives for stakeholders.
• Provide rapid analysis and recommendations to emerging issues.
