Job summary

OTIFYD is seeking a EU/UK based Cost Engineer to join our Project Controls team. The role centers on SAP-driven cost management, budgeting, forecast accuracy, and close collaboration with project managers, procurement, finance, engineering, and commercial teams.

This position emphasizes governance, change management, and delivering executive-level dashboards to track financial performance, ensure cost discipline, and support strategic decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Finance, Economics, or related field.
• 5+ years of cost engineering, cost control, or project controls on large-scale projects.
• Strong practical experience with SAP CO/PS/MM.
• Understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Experience with purchase orders, commitments, accruals, invoices, and actual costs.
• Advanced Excel skills with pivot tables and lookups.
• Experience with CAPEX projects and stage-gate governance is desirable.
• Knowledge of SAP PS and CO.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Budgeting, cost control and reporting for projects.
• Develop and maintain project budgets, cost plans and forecasts.
• Monitor actual costs, commitments, accruals and expenditures against budgets.
• Use SAP to manage cost data, POs, commitments and project transactions.
• Prepare monthly cost reports, variance analyses and cost forecasts.
• Support project managers with cost-control information for decision making.
• Track costs and ensure accurate cost coding across teams.
• Review POs, invoices, receipts and subcontractor costs.
