Job summary

Balfour Beatty plc is recruiting a Construction Director based in Leeds to lead construction delivery across major cabling and transmission projects. You will direct multidisciplinary teams, ensure safety, drive efficient delivery and shape project strategy from planning through commissioning.

The role requires extensive leadership experience in power/transmission construction, strong commercial acumen and a track record of delivering complex infrastructure programmes.

Qualifications

• Degree in Construction, Engineering or related field.
• APM PFQ/PMQ/PPQ is advantageous.
• CSCS and SMSTS or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership across major transmission and cabling projects.
• Ensure construction considerations are embedded from design through to commissioning.
• Lead Construction Managers, functional leads, technical specialists and project support teams.
• Drive a culture of Zero Harm and continuous improvement.
• Manage governance, reporting and performance review activities.
• Oversee procurement strategies and supply chain performance.
• Take ownership of budgets, cost control and commercial performance.
