Job summary

Kirby Group Engineering is seeking a Commercial Lead to drive the commercial performance of our Power & Renewables Business Unit across the UK and Ireland. This senior leadership role covers opportunity assessment, tendering, project delivery and final account, with a focus on risk management and value maximisation.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics or related field.
• Proven experience in senior commercial or QS leadership in engineering/construction.
• Strong background in power, energy or infrastructure projects (renewables preferred).
• Expertise in contracts, commercial strategy and risk management.
• Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation and leadership skills.
• Willingness to travel to offices/sites in Ireland and the UK.

Responsibilities

• Lead commercial activities across the Power & Renewables Business Unit.
• Drive revenue, margin and cashflow through reporting and cost management.
• Establish optimal commercial structures aligned with strategy.
• Strengthen commercial capability across the wider team.
• Lead tendering, bid strategy and project selection.
• Oversee cost control, reporting and governance across projects.
• Audit live projects for compliance and performance improvements.
• Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Planning and QS teams.
• Identify and mitigate commercial risk across the BU.
• Support client relationships and growth of the portfolio.
